You can cancel your dream of Giannis going to your NBA team in 2021. Giannis Antetokounmpo has agreed to a five year/$228 million dollar extension to stay in Milwaukee.

Antetokounmpo is coming off winning the NBA MVP and the Defensive Player of the Year in 2019-20. After a disappointing second round exit last season, Giannis’ future with the Bucks was unsure heading into the 2020-21 season.

After rumors of Giannis possibly leaving the Bucks to join Miami or Golden State in 2021, Giannis addressed the rumors today by announcing on his twitter he was signing the super max extension to stay put in Milwaukee.

Antetokounmpo becomes one of the highest paid players in the NBA, as the Bucks will look to compete for an NBA title.

My Thoughts

This is a very good thing for Milwaukee fans. You got your franchise star locked up for the next five years, and you don’t have to worry about losing him for nothing.

I was very surprised about this move by Giannis. I did not think he would’ve signed this extension. I thought he would’ve waited out on how the season was going or the end of the season to sign this contract. Money wise, this was a very smart decision about him, but trying to win an NBA Championship, it’s hard to tell.

I don’t see people coming to Milwaukee to play there, but you never know now since Giannis is there to stay.

The Bucks are going to have a hard time bringing in new pieces after signing this big contract. It’s a small market and with Holiday and Middleton both under contract, don’t be surprised if you see maybe see one of them getting move in the future to bring in another star to help Giannis.

The star player on the Baltimore Ravens will be possibly missing some games. Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson has tested positive for COVID-19.

Jackson has been added to the team’s reserve/COVID-19 list this week. The Baltimore Ravens were suppose to play the Pittsburgh Steelers on Thanksgiving Day, but the game was moved to Sunday.

Lamar Jackson will be possibly the next 2 games for the 6-4 Ravens as they stand in 3rd place in the AFC North.

My Thoughts

Well this is not the news Ravens fans have wanted to hear.

The Ravens are coming off two tough losses in a row, and now they will miss their star player against the 10-0 Pittsburgh Steelers.

Lamar Jackson will not only miss Sunday’s game but could possibly be missing the next game the possible week.

Could the Ravens still get the job done without him?? We will have to wait and see

Montrezl Harrell is staying put in Los Angeles, but is now playing for a new team. The Los Angeles Lakers has signed Montrezl Harrell to a 2 year/$19 million dollar contract.

Montrezl Harrell is coming off a career year averaging 18.6 PPG and 7.1 RPG, winning the 2019-2020 NBA Sixth Man of the Year. Harrell could’ve gone somewhere and get a bigger contract and role, but decided to stay put in LA and join the Lakers to compete for an NBA Championship.

My Thoughts

This was an unexpected move by the Harrell. I thought he was going to go somewhere to get paid and be one of the main guys on the team, but he shocks the world and signs with the Lakers.

I’m sure this has to tick off Clippers players and fans, as Harell is going the rival teams. I’m not a huge fan of this move by him, but the Lakers definitely upgraded the center spot.

The Lakers could still be a contender to win the West, but don’t be surprised if the Clippers, Rockets, and Nuggets could make a run for it.

The Charlotte Hornets has picked up a former NBA All-Star to their roster. Gordon Hayward and the Charlotte Hornets have agreed to a four year, $120 million dollar contract. In 52 games, Hayward averaged 17.5 PPG, 6.7 RPG, and 4.1 APG for the Boston Celtics.

Hayward opted out of his $34 million dollar contract with the Boston Celtics to become an unrestricted free agent this summer. There was reports of The Celtics and Pacers working on a sign and trade deal that would send Hayward to Indiana for other pieces. But Charlotte gave Hayward a call and offered a four year, $120 million dollar deal to play for the Hornets, a deal worth $10 million more than Boston and Indiana’s offer.

Hayward will now be one of the top scoring options in Charlotte, as the Hornets will be looking to make it back to the playoffs for the first time since 2016

My Thoughts

For Hayward, this was a great deal as he is getting paid and going to be one of the top scoring options in Charlotte. But for Charlotte, this was a stretch of an offer.

Hayward is going to be paid around $30 million a year in Charlotte, and this was not the best investment for them. Hayward has a hard time staying healthy, and sometimes he is not always consistent.

I don’t think this was the best deal for Charlotte, because I don’t see Hayward being the exact same guy 4 years from now. But who knows if he stays healthy, and looks more to shoot, he could do well.

I also just don’t see the dynamic duo of Gordon Hayward and Lamelo Ball working well together. Two guys who have very different personalities, and two guys who want to be the top scorer on the Hornets this year. It will be interesting how it works.

I really wished things worked out with him in Boston, but its was time to move on from him. Hayward is always injured, and when he got injured again in the playoffs this past season, it was kind of the writing on the wall.

The Milwaukee Bucks have made some big moves to their roster. They have added new pieces to their adding former Pelicans guard Jrue Holiday and Kings forward Bogdan Bogdanovic via trade.

The New Orleans Pelicans have traded Jrue Holiday to the Milwaukee Bucks in exchange for Eric Bledsoe, George Hill, and three first round picks. When people thought the Bucks were done after making a big trade, they had another trade coming. The Milwaukee Bucks traded away Donte DiVincenzo, Ersan Ilyasova, and D.J. Wilson in exchange for Bogdan Bogdanovic and Justin James.

Milwaukee was looking to make some moves as they are looking to bring help for Giannis Antetokounmpo as Antetokounmpo may be out of Milwaukee in 2021 as he could enter free agency.

My Thoughts

Well Milwaukee definitely added some better pieces to the starting lineup, but they did lose a lot of bench players in return.

Jrue Holiday is a better upgrade than Eric Bledsoe, but he’s not that much better than him. And Bogdanovic is a good shooter for the team, but I don’t think he’s a HUGE roster upgrade.

The Bucks definitely lost a lot of pieces which I am not really sure if that was the right move. You have to have a bench in order to compete with the best in the NBA. Look at the Golden State Warriors in 2019, they didn’t really have a bench. Same with The Celtics this past season, they didn’t have any pieces that came off their bench.

You NEED a good bench in order to go far in the playoffs, it can’t just be your stars. I will be very curious to see how the Bucks will do in free agency as ANYTHING can happen.

Draft night is tomorrow night!!

We have a MAJOR trade alert! The Oklahoma Thunder has traded star point guard Chris Paul to the Phoenix Suns in exchange for Ricky Rubio, Kelly Oubre, Ty Jerome, Jalen Lecque, and a 2022 first round draft pick.

Paul spent one season with organization leading them to a playoff appearance after being projected a 0.2% chance of making the playoffs at the beginning of the 2019-20 season. He made the All-Star team, All-NBA Second Team, and averaged 17.6 PPG and 6.7 APG.

The Phoenix Suns, who went 8-0 in the NBA bubble, now add another All-Star as they will try to make a playoff run with Devin Booker and Chris Paul leading the backcourt.

My Thoughts

This was a GREAT trade for the Phoenix Suns! Chris Paul had a good season in OKC, and Phoenix finally has that missing piece to reach the NBA playoffs.

I will be very curious to see how the backcourt of Paul and Booker will work, it could be a really good backcourt duo for the Suns.

For the Thunder, they are just going into rebuild mode now preparing for the future. They honestly won’t have a terrible team next year, but I don’t expect them to be a playoff team this upcoming season.

The Masters may have been in the fall this year, but that didn’t seem to stop Dustin Johnson. Dustin Johnson set a course record to claim his first ever Masters victory. Johnson set a course record by shooting 20-under.

Johnson is the top ranked golfer to win the Masters since Tiger Woods in 2002.

Cameron Smith and Sungjae Im both tied for second with a score of -15, while Justin Thomas finished 4th with a score of -12.

My Thoughts

Definitely weird seeing the Masters in the Fall, but Dustin Johnson dominated.

Not only did he dominate, but broke the course record which is absolutely crazy. The two guys that tied for second could’ve maybe won the Masters if Johnson didn’t have such a crazy game of golf.

I was really hoping maybe Tiger could maybe have some magic and win the Masters again, but he had that hole where he had a 10 which is kind of embarrassing.

I wonder if they will have the Masters again in the spring or if they will move it to the fall!

Monday is the official day that NBA teams can make trades, and we have our first agreement trade. The Los Angeles Lakers have agreed to trade guard Danny Green and the 28th pick in the 2020 NBA Draft to the Thunder for guard Dennis Schroder.

Schroder had a successful 2019-20 season in Oklahoma City Thunder averaging around 18 points a game while finishing in the top 3 in the Sixth man of the year race.

The Lakers now will have a solid point guard as they will be competing to win another title in 2021.

My Thoughts

Honestly not a bad trade for the Lakers.

Danny Green is not the shooter like he was in San Antonio anymore, and we all saw him in the bubble and Lakers fans would beg him to not shoot the ball. I think the Lakers made the right decision getting rid of him and getting a guard who had a very good season in Oklahoma City.

I personally think that they should’ve traded for Derrick Rose as he is a cheaper contract and just as good, but all in all its still a good trade.

For OKC, I could see more moves with Chris Paul possibly on the move and Danilo Gallinari choosing a different destination. I wouldn’t be surprised if you see Danny Green request a buyout or trade as he will probably want to go to a team that wants to win.

History has been made. The Miami Marlins have hired Kim Ng to be their new general manager, the first female general manager in MLB History.

Ng has been around baseball for the past 30 years and now she is finally on the top being a general manager for the Miami Marlins.

The Miami Marlins made the playoffs for the first time in 17 years this past season as they won the NL Wild Card game and lost to the Braves in the NLDS.

My Thoughts

This is a very cool thing to see. It is not often that you see a girl head coach, manager, or owner of a mens league. So this is a very cool thing to see for not only baseball fans, but to people of the world.

30 years in baseball, and I’m sure that after all those years she is finally relieved as her hard work has finally paid off.

The Marlins had a great season, and now Ng is given a big role in this organization to help get this team back to the World Series.

There is going to be no winter sports being played this winter in the Ivy League. The Ivy League has announced that they are cancelling the 2020-21 winter sports season. The league has also postponed the start of spring sports until at least the end of February.

Robin Harris, the conference’s director of the Ivy League, told ESPN “This is definitely not a decision we want to make, but I know it’s the right decision for the Ivy League,”.

My Thoughts

Not really surprised that the Ivy League has made the call about this. But I definitely do think that there will be college basketball this winter and other winter sports.

I hope that other schools don’t decide to do this as well, because for some of these athletes, they actually want to go out and play the game. I think that there will be a shorten season and teams will only be able to play with teams from their conference or a college not too far away. But I think that there will be a college basketball season this year.

I just really hope that the other leagues won’t feel the pressure to cancel their sports season, because the Ivy League has already made the call of cancelling their winter sports.
