And just like that, there is only four episodes left of the ten part Chicago Bulls documentary series “The Last Dance”. Episode five and six were released on Sunday talking about the 1992 USA Basketball Dream Team, The Bulls winning the ’92 and ’93 championship, Michael Jordan’s gambling issue, and the late Kobe Bryant talking about what MJ meant to him.
My thoughts
I thought that these two episodes were pretty good, It wasn’t my favorite episodes, but they were still entertaining to watch. My favorite part was definitely the Kobe Bryant scenes. Seeing old footage of the 1998 NBA All-Star game, and seeing a very young Kobe Bryant guarding Michael Jordan was so cool to see. Just to see how Michael was determined to stop Kobe, even if it was just an All-Star game just made that whole episode. I still can’t get over that Kobe is gone, just seeing him being interviewed was just sad to watch knowing that he is no longer with us anymore. Same thing with seeing David Stern being interviewed, just crazy how they were interviewed months before they passed.
Seeing the 1992 USA Dream Team footage was cool, but there was a lot of footage that I already saw from when they did a documentary about that team on NBA TV. But I had no idea that Jordan and Pippen were having a little beef at Tony Kukoc, because they were mad at GM Jerry Krause. Like Kukoc had no idea why Jordan and Pippen were going at him so hard, and it was when he was drafted by the Bulls! I could see why they went so hard at him to prove a point, but they didn’t really need to say bad stuff about him, because it wasn’t Kukocs fault.
I definitely don’t think that Michael Jordan had a gambling problem. I could see how he puts money on golf matches, and a few other things, but I definitely do not think that he had a gambling problem. I feel like he did lie about a few things about gambling, but I never thought that his gambling problem was an addiction. If it was an addiction, he would’ve bet on a lot more things.
To close it out, I just want to say those Air Jordans that Michael Jordan wore in Madison Square Garden were so cool. If anyone knows where I could buy some, let me know, because I would love a pair LOL.
Episode 7 and 8 will be next Sunday, and I’m excited to see the next episodes!!
