After playing a few rounds of Fortnite, my friend Jeremy and I decided to hop on NBA 2k20 to play in the Neighborhood. Another friend of ours, Silas, was already in a Neighborhood, and we decided to join his park. We got on played one game with Silas and took a big L, before he left the park to play some Fortnite. After he left, we called up our friend Parker if he wanted to join Jeremy and I in the park. As I ran over the park to find Jeremy, I realized there was a lot of people over by the top left court in the park. As I was running by, I realized why people were over by the court.
That’s because Ja Morant was in our Neighborhood playing 3v3.
I yelled into my mic “NO WAY, THAT’S JA MORANT!”
I knew it was him from first glance, because of the NBA logo above his head and his playstation name was “Jmorant12”. I quickly picked up my phone to call my friend Silas to get back on as Ja Morant was our Neighborhood. He quickly got off Fortnite, and joined our Neighborhood immediately.
We kept trying to get in the spot to play against him, but there was so many people that kept getting in the squad spot before us. As we were watching him play, we kept realizing that Ja kept flopping or would cherry pick down the floor LOL. His two teammates were pretty decent, and I think they were carrying him.
Whenever his team would lose, everyone would chase him to which court he was going to next. He would even fake people out by switching directions running to find out which court he was going to play next.
The closest we got him to play against him was he was going to play a team on the orange court, we had the squad spot and we were going to play him next if his team won. But that didn’t matter as his team lost 21-6 LOL. We tried again to play against him, but after 40 minutes of trying to play against him, he left the park.
As disappointing as it was to not play against him or with him, it was still really cool to know he was in the same park as us. I played against a guy from the 2k league, a football player from the Lions, and Ja Morant’s teammate De’Anthony Melton. But I have never been in the same park as a popular NBA player like Ja Morant.
I also looked at what Ja Morant plays for games, and it’s basically Fortnite, NBA 2K, and Call of Duty. That’s the way go! LOL
