MLB and MLBPA agree to 60-game season

Baseball is back and will return next month. Major League Baseball and MLB Player’s Association have agreed to a 60-game season to start the 2020 MLB season. Players will report to training camp on July 1st, and the season will start on either July 23rd or 24th.

With a 60-game season, it will mean that players will earn around 37% of their full season salary as long as the season is complete. Also, the MLB trade deadline will be in August, about a month after the MLB start-up.

My Thoughts

Finally, they reached a deal.

I honestly thought this thing would never end. I think the players finally came to their conclusion that they wanted to play, and now there will be a baseball season.

Now the season is only 60 games this year, which means a majority of these games are absolutely crucial. A losing streak will hurt a team, and a winning team can give a team a big advantage in the MLB standings.

A normal MLB season is 162 games, and the MLB has now erased 102 games. That is a big chunk of the season. It may not be much, but it is something. I think it will be more entertaining to watch, because every single game can be a very important game.

I will be glad to see some baseball on my TV this summer. And I am also hoping that after these 60 games, I can see Mookie Betts back in a Boston Red Sox uniform in the next season. šŸ˜‰
