Celtics’ Hayward out four weeks due to Grade III ankle sprain

The “Hospital” Celtics are back at it again. Boston Celtics forward Gordon Hayward will miss about four weeks after suffering a Grade III ankle sprain against the Philadelphia 76ers last Monday. Hayward suffered the injury late in the 4th quarter in the Boston Celtics 109-101 Game One victory over the Philadelphia 76ers. With Hayward now out for the rest of the first round, it could make the Sixers-Celtics playoff matchup a little bit more interesting.

Gordon Hayward can’t catch a break, I swear this guy is made of glass. He missed all of the 2017-18 season after suffering a gruesome ankle injury in the season opener. He missed a majority of this season after breaking his left hand. Now he almost broke his right ankle, and he is going to miss a majority of the playoffs.

Losing Gordon Hayward will hurt the Celtics as they do not have much of a bench. But it doesn’t mean they can’t contend for an NBA title. They still have star talent with Tatum, Brown, and Walker that can help carry the load with Hayward being out for a few weeks.
