Top 5 Best Free Agents available for the NBA’s return

The NBA is set to return on July 30th in Walt Disney World, Florida to finish out the rest of the 2019-2020 season. The NBA is bringing back 22 teams, 13 in the West and 9 in the East to fight for the last spots in the NBA Playoffs. With bringing back these teams, they are still allowed to bring in free agents to their team. NBA teams are now allowed to bring in 17 players to their team which means you could see some free agents picked up to help a team contend for an NBA Title. So which should teams bring in for their championship run? This is my top five list of free agents available on the market.

Honorable Mention

Kenneth Faried

Kenneth Faried may not be the same guy like he was in his early days in Denver, but he can still be a valuable asset. Faried averaged 12 PPG while grabbing 8 boards a game last year for the Houston Rockets in 25 games. He is a guy who works hard on the glass, gives his best effort, and can provide you valuable minutes at the forward/center position.

Darren Collison

Darren Collison shocked NBA fans by announcing his retirement in the 2019 NBA off season. He was interested in returning to play for the LA Clippers or Lakers back in January and February, but decided to stay retired. With the NBA returning in July, he may come out of retirement. Collison last played for the Indiana Pacers in 2018-19 averaging 11 points and six assists a night. Collison is a solid point guard, who can score the ball and defend. He can provide solid minutes off the bench and can be a great replacement if someone gets hurt.

5. Nick Young

Nick Young is one of the most interesting players in the NBA, but the guy was NBA champion in 2018 with the Golden State Warriors. He last played for the Denver Nuggets in 2018-19 playing 4 games averaging 2 points a game. He may not be the most amazing player, but he is a valuable shooter off the bench, and can step up in the clutch.

4. Lance Stephenson

Lance Stephenson is another interesting character in the NBA as we know him for doing silly things on the floor. But the guy can play the game of basketball. He spent the past season in China, becoming a household name in China. Stephenson provides energy, defense, and can provide 8-10 points off the bench.

3. Isaiah Thomas

Isaiah Thomas may not be the same guy from Boston who averaged almost 30 points a game in 2017, but he can still score the ball. Thomas has bounced around from team to team since his hip injury, but he can still play the game of basketball. He last played for the Wizards this season averaging 12 points a game, while starting a few games in the place of John Wall. He is a guy who score and shoot the ball exceptional and can really step up in the big time.

2. Jamal Crawford

Jamal Crawford has played in the NBA for a very long time, but it doesn’t mean he can’t play. The three time sixth man of the year averaged around 8 points a game in 2018-2019 playing for the Phoenix Suns. Crawford is amazing ball handler and can give you lots of scoring off the bench. Don’t forget he scored 51 points in his last game with the Suns last year.

1. Demarcus Cousins

Demarcus Cousins is the best free agent on the market. The last team he played for was the Los Angeles Lakers before being cut by the team after he was going to be out for the whole season after an ACL tear before the 2019-2020 season. When he played for the Golden State Warriors in 2018-19, he averaged around 16 points and 8 rebounds a game. He may have dealt with injuries that have hurt his worth on teams, but when healthy, the guy can really play. Don’t forget he is a four time NBA All-Star and was averaging 25 and 12 a game two seasons ago. He can finish at the rim, rebound, and defend down low. He would be the best guy you can get on your team.

It won’t be too much longer until the NBA returns! Just a few more weeks and we will be watching basketball again!

Also how many players are going to sit out for the Black Lives Matter movement?? I will be curious to see who does so.

Lebron is NOT a NBA All-Time Top 5 player….Yet

Last week, Paul Pierce said that Lebron James is not in the top five All-Time NBA players list. A lot of people have been giving a lot of crap to Pierce saying that he is crazy to think that Lebron James is not on his top five players list. But am I the only one that seems to agree with Paul Pierce’s list?

Now Lebron is a phenomenal player, and he is definitely in the top ten of NBA players all time, but he is not in the top five, not yet. Before you get on me, No Pierce is NOT a top 30 player All-Time, but I don’t think that Pierce’s opinion is wrong.

This is Pierce’s list on who he thinks is in the top five.

  1. Michael Jordan
  2. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar
  3. Bill Russell
  4. Magic Johnson
  5. Kobe Bryant

Now what do these top five players have in common? These Five players have at least FIVE or more rings. Michael Jordan won six rings with the Bulls going a perfect 6-0 in the Finals, Kareem won six rings (one with the Bucks, five with the Lakers) going 6-4 in the Finals, Bill Russell won eleven rings with Celtics going 11-1 in the Finals, Magic Johnson won five rings with the Lakers going 5-4 in the Finals, while Kobe won five with the Lakers going 5-2 in the Finals.

What is Lebron’s record in the Finals? 3-6. Winning two with the Heat, and one with the Cavaliers. Lebron’s record in the Finals is not amazing, he has won three rings, but I don’t think it is “amazing”. Let’s look at his Finals appearances.

2007, Lost to the San Antonio Spurs, 4-0

2011, Lost to the Dallas Mavericks, 4-2

2012, Defeated the Oklahoma City Thunder, 4-1

2013, Defeated the San Antonio Spurs, 4-3

2014, Lost to the San Antonio Spurs, 4-1

2015, Lost to the Golden State Warrior, 4-2

2016, Defeated the Golden State Warriors, 4-3

2017, Lost to the Golden State Warriors, 4-1

2018, Lost to the Golden State Warrior, 4-0

Now Lebron’s most impressive Finals appearance was probably in 2007, when he was such a young player in the league with not much help on the Cavs to lead them to the NBA Finals. They may have got swept that series, but the journey there was impressive. The best Finals win he had was versus the Golden State Warriors in 2016, when they came back to win the Finals after trailing the series 3-1. But two of those Finals, he almost didn’t win. If it wasn’t for Ray Allen’s game tying three in Game 6 of the 2013 NBA Finals, or Kyrie Irving’s three pointer in Game 7 of the 2016 NBA Finals, Lebron would be 1-8 in the Finals.

When Lebron was a free agent, Lebron ALWAYS left a team when he couldn’t get the job done. He left Cleveland the first time, because he couldn’t reach the Finals after being the top seed in the Eastern Conference in 2009 and 2010. He went to Miami to team up with Wade and Bosh to finally get a ring, and went 2-2 in the Finals after saying they were going to win 8 titles. He hopped off the ship when they lost to the Spurs to head back to Cleveland to play with Kyrie Irving and their first overall pick, Andrew Wiggins that would end up being traded for Kevin Love. Lebron basically ended up being a general manager for that team, firing coaches, and bringing in and trading away many players to make sure he had the most talent and help on the roster. He went 1-3 with the Cavs before leaving again for the bright lights in LA to play for the Lakers.

Whenever the tough got going for the top five players in the list, they never just hopped off the ship to team up with someone after a Finals loss, they used it as motivation for the next season. MJ could never reach the Finals, because he couldn’t get by the Detroit Pistons “Bad Boys”. He stayed with that team, got stronger, and took them down that next year. When Kareem and Magic lost to the Celtics in ’86, they responded right back winning the title the next year. When Bill Russell didn’t reach the Finals after winning 8 years in a row, he responded back winning the Finals the next season. Kobe stayed with the Lakers after Shaq left, lost to the Celtics in the 2008 NBA Finals, and won two titles in a row after that Finals loss.

Another thing is Stats don’t mean everything.

People look at Lebron’ stats and they see how many points, rebounds, assists, he averages. But just because you have good stats, but it sometimes does not mean anything if you don’t win. If you want to be in the top five best list, you got have amazing stats and win multiple chips, not just one or two titles. Lebron is almost there in the top five, if he wins another title or two, he is FOR SURE in the top Five, But right now, he is not. Everyone in the top five list, has at least five rings and phenomenal stats. Karl Malone, Julius Erving, and Larry Bird were all great players who put up phenomenal stats, but they don’t even come close to the Top Five, because they didn’t win many titles, or no titles at all. Or the other way around, Robert Horry won seven rings in the NBA, but were his stats really good? No. You have to have really good stats and at least win multiple rings.

I personally think that Lebron is ranked either #6 or #7 on the All Time List

Lebron is either ahead of Shaquille O’Neal or behind him. Shaq has won 4 rings while averaging pretty good stats in his career, but I don’t think he is in the top five. All those players ahead of Shaq has won more rings than him. Lebron has better stats than Shaq, but he does not have four rings.

To Wrap it up

Lebron is an amazing player and without a doubt a top ten player of all time, but he is not in the top five yet. If he wins a ring or two with the Lakers, he will earn my respect and will make my top five list. Stats and winning multiple rings plays a big factor in wanting to be in the top five all-time.

If Lebron was 1-8 in the Finals, would people put him in the top five All Time?

FYI, Y’all need to stop acting like Paul Pierce was terrible, watch some of his highlights in the 2000’s decade the guy could get buckets!

NHL announces plan to return with 24 team playoff format in 2 hub cities

The National Hockey League (NHL) has announced their plan to return to the ice by ending the regular season and going right into the playoffs if the season resumes. The playoffs will be a 24-team format as the top twelve teams from each conference will advance to the postseason. The playoffs will be played in 2 hub cities that have yet to be determined.

Using the regular season standings from March 12th, here is the projected playoff bracket when play resumes.

NHL Eastern Conference

Byes: 1. Boston, 2. Tampa Bay, 3. Washington, 4. Philadelphia

5. Pittsburgh vs 12 Montreal

6. Carolina vs 11 Rangers

7. NY Islanders vs 10. Florida

8. Toronto vs 9. Columbus

NHL Western Conference

Byes: 1. St. Louis, 2. Colorado, 3. Vegas, 4. Dallas

5. Edmonton vs 12. Chicago

6. Nashville vs 11. Arizona

7. Vancouver vs 10. Minnesota

8. Calgary vs 9. Winnipeg

If the season returns, teams can have small-group workouts starting in early June, and Training camp no earlier than July 1st.

My Thoughts

Well this some what of good news to hear! I’m glad that there is now a plan for the NHL if the season returns. I think that this will help the NBA and the MLB to figure out how they want their season to resume. I wasn’t surprised to hear they cancelled the regular season. If they continued on from the regular season, the season would probably extend to probably August or September. I think that this was a good decision by the league to push forward with this plan if play is resumable.

It may not return until July, but Hey it’s a plan!

ESPN announces a Tom Brady documentary to air in 2021

After ESPN aired Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls “The Last Dance” documentary, ESPN will be airing a documentary on Tom Brady’s Super Bowl Runs with the New England Patriots. The documentary will be called “The Man in the Arena” that will air nine episodes looking at Quarterback Tom Brady’s runs in the nine Super Bowls he played in and growing up to where he is now.

Tom Brady spent twenty seasons with the New England Patriots, before signing a new deal with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers this past offseason. Brady won six Super Bowls in nine appearances during his run, while he won three Super Bowl MVP’s.

My Thoughts

I will be very excited to see this next year. As you know I am a big Boston/New England fan, and seeing this will bring back a lot of memories with Tom Brady’s days in New England. After watching “The Last Dance” documentary, it just proved to a lot of people that Michael Jordan is the greatest basketball player of all time. I’m hoping that this new documentary will prove why Tom Brady is the GOAT, and that it can be just as good as “The Last Dance” documentary.

I will be curious if they will add an episode if Tom Brady leads the Buccaneers to the Super Bowl, but I don’t think that the Buccaneers will win the Super Bowl. I may not agree with Tom Brady’s decision leaving the Patriots, but I will always love Tom and what he did as the New England quarterback.

I can’t wait for sports to return! TV shows are starting to get a little boring!!

Jazz forward Bojan Bogdanovic undergoing season ending wrist surgery

Utah Jazz Forward Bojan Bogdanovic will not be returning to the Jazz this season. Bogdanovic will be undergoing surgery on his right wrist that will make him miss the remainder of the season if the NBA returns. Bogdanovic hurt his right wrist earlier on in the season, but decided to keep playing and have surgery when the season was over. But with the NBA unknown to return, he has decided to have surgery now to be ready and healthy at the beginning of the 2020-2021 season.

Bogdanovic was having a career year averaging 20.2 PPG in his seventh year in the league. The Utah Jazz starter signed a 4 year/$73 million dollar deal in 2019, and was fitting in nicely with the team.

How will this affect the Jazz?

Before the NBA season was put on hold, The Utah Jazz was 41-23 standing 4th in the Western Conference standings. Things in Utah are not really the best right now, the drama between Rudy Gobert and Donovan Mitchell, Mike Conley struggling as the new starting point guard, and now they have lost a starter Bogdanovic for the rest of the season.

With all of this drama going on and losing Bogdanovic, I don’t see the Jazz going far this season. I expect them to either advance to the semifinals and lose, or lose in the first round of the playoffs. You are taking a 20 point per game scorer off your team, and with Mitchell and Gobert having issues, I just don’t see good things for the Jazz in the future. I expect Gobert to be traded after this season, because I think Utah would like to keep Mitchell around, and it is cheaper to keep Mitchell.

So if the NBA returns, we will have to see how this works out for the Utah Jazz!

Who should take the chance on Cam Newton?

The 2015 NFL MVP, Cam Newton, still remains a free agent after being cut by the Carolina Panthers. The Panthers released the quarterback after they could not find a trade partner per Newton’s request. After having shoulder surgery and being out for most of the 2018-219 season, Cam Newton is looking to get back on pace with a new NFL team sometime soon.

As he continues to look for a new team, here is some teams that should take the chance on Cam Newton.

Pittsburgh Steelers

Ben Roethlisberger is getting closer and closer to retiring from the NFL, which means the Steelers will need to find another QB. What better guy to have than Cam Newton? This can be a perfect fit for Pittsburgh and Newton, it’s a chance to start fresh for both sides and I feel like they could make this work. Cam Newton was the NFL MVP not too long ago, and he can still be a solid quarterback for your team. With Roethlisberger always being injure prone and out of his prime, it may be time for the Steelers to look somewhere else for the starting QB.

Philadelphia Eagles

The Philadelphia Eagles will have two guys fighting for the starting QB position, and those two guys are Carson Wentz and Jalen Hurts. Why not add Cam Newton to the mix? Cam Newton can possibly outplay Wentz and Hurts, and could get that starting job. Carson Wentz has seemed to get hurt a lot, and you can’t always hang on to a guy that gets her a lot. The Eagles would gain a veteran quarterback who has led the team to the Super Bowl. I don’t see the Eagles getting rid of Hurts, but they could get rid of Carson Wentz, if Cam Newton can shine in the preseason.

New England Patriots

We all know the franchise quarterback Tom Brady has left New England to join the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Patriots have their sights set on QB Jarett Stidham as the new face of the franchise, but what happens if he doesn’t play well? They have Brian Hoyer as the quarterback, and I wouldn’t really trust him at that spot. I feel like Cam Newton would fit in perfectly with Bill Belichick’s system. Belichick can make anyone look amazing, and Cam Newton may be a lot of work at times, but I think he could get him focused to win a Super Bowl.

Baltimore Ravens

The Ravens have a bright future in their new QB Lamar Jackson, but what will happen if he gets hurt in the season. They wouldn’t have a great quarterback to back Jackson up, and the Ravens could be screwed of Super Bowl. Cam Newton could keep that team steady and focused until Lamar Jackson returns, and Newton would be a guy that wouldn’t disappoint at the QB position.

Cam Newton may not be the same quarterback from 2015, but if you give him a chance, he can do well for your team. It may be a risk taking him with his injuries and other problems he has, but he can turn your team into a solid team.

The Last Dance finale

Wow just like that the Chicago Bulls “The Last Dance” is over. This was the best documentary I have ever seen in my life. I wasn’t even born in the 90’s, and I felt like I was living in it watching Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls dominate. The drama this team went through in the 1997-198 season was crazy, and to come out winning the NBA title in that fashion is just amazing. This is the greatest team of all time, people who say that the Golden State Warriors had an amazing dynasty winning three titles, this team just tops every team in the NBA.

If you come out of this series thinking Lebron James is the GOAT, then something is wrong with you. Michael Jordan had to go through so much to win six titles. Michael Jordan made people remember who is the Greatest Player of All Time, and that guy is himself. I’m a big Michael Jordan fan now after watching all of this.

Episode 9 & 10 review

Another great two episodes, just sad to see this documentary end. The Indiana Pacers were a really good team, Reggie Miller seemed like a guy who could not miss a shot when he got hot. I never saw how he was as a player growing up, so this gave me a good perspective of what he was like. I remember the year the Boston Celtics were trying to get him to come out of retirement to compete for a NBA Championship in the 2007-08, but he decided to stay retired. He could’ve been a great asset for that team. Also why did the Pacers players all have a buzz cut or bald haircut?

The most hilarious part of the documentary was when Larry Bird came up to Michael Jordan after MJ told Bird “You b****, f*** you”. That was honestly really funny to me and very savage to say to Larry Bird.

I never knew about the story about Steve Kerr’s father. That is so sad to hear about. And it even surprised me more that Michael Jordan and Steve Kerr never talked about it to each other. I could definitely see how you wouldn’t want to ever bring it up, but just surprised that it never came up once. So sad to hear about those two stories, and I couldn’t imagine the pain they both went through.

The Utah Jazz were also a really good team, but I couldn’t believe how the Jazz only scored 51 points in Game Four on the 1998 NBA Finals!! That is absolutely crazy! You lose by 40 points and barely score over 50 points is embarrassing, I am just surprised that the Jazz won another game after that loss. The Chicago Bulls were just a much better team and there was no way the Jazz could beat them.

Can you imagine if Dennis Rodman played in today’s game, and he skipped practice to a wrestling match in the NBA Finals? The world would explode right now. I am surprised that Rodman only got fined and wasn’t even punished by not starting or sitting out the next game. But I guess that Phil Jackson let him do his thing, and didn’t want to lose a key player in a series like this.

Seeing Jerry Krause on the team bus and celebrating with the team after winning the sixth championship is just so awkward. Like how could you celebrate this the way he did, thinking in his mind that he is going to blow the whole thing up. Just absolutely crazy to think about, Jerry Krause was a great GM, but made the worst decision of his life blowing everything up.

And the part is dumb that they told Head Coach Phil Jackson if his team went 82-0, they were not bringing him back. Then once they win the title, they call Phil Jackson tell him to come back to coach? That is messed up. I wish they went for a fourth championship in a row, and I feel like everyone would’ve came back to compete for a title. Like Jordan said, if they offered MJ, Phil Jackson, Rodman, Kerr another one year contract, I bet they all would’ve made one more run at it in that last year. But after all that drama saying that this was the last year, and to change their mind and do it again just makes sense. If Jerry Krause never said all of this at the beginning of the year, they might’ve went to go win another title or two.

Final Thoughts

Phenomenal documentary. This documentary is going to be nominated for many awards I think, and the ratings for this went through the roof. I am going to be bored now with this documentary is done, I just hope sports return soon and this virus can find a cure ASAP.

Michael Jordan is the Greatest Athlete of All Time, and anyone to disagree has to come with a strong argument on why he isn’t the best.

Nets’ Dinwiddie starts GoFundMe to let fans decide his free agent decision

Brooklyn Nets point guard Spencer Dinwiddie may be on a new team sometime in the future. Dinwiddie has started a GoFundMe page with a goal of $25 million dollars, and if he hits that goal, he will let the fans decide where his next NBA destination will be. Dinwiddie says he will sign a one year/minimum salary contract with any team if the goal is reached, if not all the proceeds will go to charity.

Spencer Dinwiddie, the back up point guard for the Nets, is having a career year averaging 20.6 PPG and 6.8 APG. Dinwiddie is under contract for the Nets through 2020-2021, but can turn his player option to be a free agent in 2021.

My Thoughts

I am not really sure why he is doing this, I’m not sure if this is just for clout or if he is actually for real doing this. I could see him wanting to maybe leave Brooklyn in the future if he doesn’t want to serve as Kyrie Irving’s backup, but I’m not sure if he is going to leave to go wherever the fans tell him too. I’m not sure how he will decide that, but it will be interesting to see.

If this ends up to be true and the fans decide where he will go, he is either going to a popular team like the Lakers, Clippers, or Warriors. Although it is hard to determine what the future may look like with every NBA team. But the fans could put him on a bad team like the Knicks or the Cavaliers to make him suffer with losing. I don’t think that the goal will be reached, because $25 million is a lot of money so we will have to see how this turns out.

You know he wouldn’t look bad in a Celtics uniform, I wouldn’t mind taking him at all. 😉

Rays ace Snell says he will not play for a reduced MLB salary

Tampa Bay Ray ace and 2018 AL Cy Young winner, Blake Snell, says he refuses to play this season for a reduced salary. Snell announced it on his Twitch channel and says that it is “just not worth it.”

There has been reports that owners sent a proposal to the MLBPA of a 50-50 revenue split . Blake Snell is projected to make $7 million in 2020, and says he is risking his own life by going on the field to play. Snell believes he should be getting the money he signed to get paid for. He goes on to continue how since the season is cut in half, it should not mean his contract should be shut in half as well. On top of a 33% cut of the half that’s already there, Snell says he will be making around 25% this season.

Philadelphia Phillies outfielder Bryce Harper also voiced his opinion saying that Snell is right on what he said. Harper signed a record breaking deal with the Phillies in 2019 for 13 year/$330 million dollar deal, making him one of the top paid athletes in the MLB.

My Thoughts

This is a really testy subject to talk about, because so many people have opinions regarding this issue. I see Blake Snell’s frustration with this, especially since he was going to make some good money this season. There is a lot people who disagree with him, because he is a baseball player making millions of dollars, and he should stop complaining when he is making way more than a lot of people around the world.

I agree with Snell that he should be paid his whole contract that he signed up for, but I just don’t think that this was the right time for him to say this. The reason why I say that is because people are losing their lives everyday from COVID-19, and his comments just made him look really bad during this chaotic time. I think that he should’ve waited a little bit to voice his opinion about it, because people are more concerned about their health right now than money. Once when this pandemic dies down a little more, I think it would’ve been the best time to say his opinion.

I do agree with his opinion though, his payment should not be cut in half because the season is cut in half. He signed a contract that would pay him $7 million this year, and he won’t get all the money he is suppose to get paid this season. He is risking his life to go out to play to pitch on the mound, and with doing that it does not mean his contract should not be cut in half. COVID-19 is not his fault, and it doesn’t mean they should take away his money because the season was cut in half.

If I was in his shoes, I agree that players should get paid the whole contract, but I would still go out to pitch. I don’t think I could sit out playing the sport I love in the professionals, while still making a good amount of money. If this was a normal job that I got paid minimum wage and this happened, I would not show up to work at all. But if I was playing a sport I love on the big stage while making a good amount of money, I would still do it. The reason why I say that is because this is only for one year, and once this season is up I would get the money I deserve the next season. But if Snell does not want to show up and play this season because of this issue, then I understand and respect his decision.

I 110% agree that the MLB players should get paid their whole salary, this should be interesting as I expect many other players to step up and voice their opinions as well.

I just hope sports return soon! I miss it too much 😦

“The Last Dance” Episode 7&8 Review

Episode 7&8 of “The Last Dance” left us all with many thoughts. These two episodes I thought were absolutely excellent. It really showed the emotional side of Jordan, the teammate side of him, and showed us the baseball side of him. I have lots of opinions to say about these two episodes, so let’s talk.

I think that these two episodes were probably the most emotional episodes. The death of Michael Jordan’s father, people accusing him on being a bad teammate, or people criticizing him on his gambling problem. Those were topics were tough on Michael Jordan to talk about, and at the end of Episode 7, you could see him get emotional and immediately call for a break.

The death of Michael Jordan’s father is really sad, it wasn’t just a death that he just passed away peacefully. This was a death that was a painful, and I can’t imagine the pain of what Michael Jordan was going through during that time.

One of the things that made me mad while watching the episode. They were talking about the media were writing these articles about how Michael Jordan’s fathers death was a possible set up by Michael Jordan because of his gambling problem going on at the time. As myself, a student studying to be a journalist, how could you write something like that about him? How does that person not get fired from their job? or how could someone even have the thought to write that for an article in their paper? It is messed up, and that is a sick mind to write an article like that. Like the guy’s father died in a tragic murder, and you go on writing article about a theory that Michael Jordan set it up to have his father killed? Just the thought of that makes me furious.

Anyway, I liked how he went to play baseball. I think Jordan found a little bitt of peace and happiness getting to play. I had no idea that Terry Francona was the manager for Michael Jordan’s Double-A team, the Birmingham Barons. I saw a report a few days ago that Michael Jordan had an offer from the Oakland Athletics to play for the actual MLB team, but turned it down because he wanted to actually earn it. I don’t know if that is true, but to be honest I don’t think it was true.

We got to see how the Bulls were without Michael Jordan, and they weren’t that bad. Scottie Pippen, Horace Grant, BJ Armstrong, and Tony Kukoc seemed like really solid players for them at the time. Had no idea about the Game 3 Eastern conference semi-final game vs the New York Knicks where Scottie Pippen sat out the last few seconds of the game, because he wasn’t getting the last shot. Scottie Pippen was very selfish to do that, but I think he learned his lesson about it. I say it is selfish, because you are giving up on your team by doing that. No matter what it is about the team getting the job done, and when something doesn’t go your way, you can’t just quit on the team. You deal with whatever play is drawn up, and you go out on the floor and try to make it happen. I was glad Scottie learned his lesson, and that he learned he was wrong about doing that.

Last thing I want to talk about. People are accusing that Michael Jordan was a bad teammate, but I think he was a great teammate. People look at MJ being hard on his teammates, and may have gone a little over board sometimes. But he cared about his teammates, and anything he said was wanting to make them tougher players. There is some people that can take it, and there is some people that can’t. If you don’t want it that way then that’s ok, but Michael Jordan helped them win those six NBA Championships through his way. Without him, none of those players on the Bulls would have those rings. Michael Jordan yelling at his teammates, and being hard on him was not being a bad teammate at all. Jordan didn’t yell at those guys because he was a jerk, he yelled at them like that to make them tougher, and knew that they had more potential than what they showed. You can’t always be nice, and expect the team to play better and win. If you were a coach, you can’t just settle on the team’s performance after a win or loss, you have to find goals along the way to push your players to give more than what they showed and willingness to want to win. I do think that there may have been some things said that was over the top from, but if Jordan wasn’t pushing his teammates, would they be ready for the moment? Jordan got them to play and got the best out of them, and thanks to him Jordan won six rings with the Bulls. So how could be a bad teammate, when he helped them win six championships?

All in in all, great two episodes. Sad to see there is two episodes left, but I really got to know what it was like in Michael Jordan era through this documentary.

BTW, Jerry Krause was DEFINITELY backstabbing the Bulls.
